On My Lap Comics and all titles and characters are Copyright 2008, 2010 Chris Asselin.
In the early days of On My Lap Comics there were talks about robots. There were talks about zombies. There were talks about sci-fi epics. Then it became clear: Combine 'em.
The result was ARMOR and the Automaton
Apocalypse, a sci-fi, horror, future, armageddon epic featuring murderous robots intent on pulverizing anything that moves. This story would include all the ideas explored before the development of ARMOR into one surreal tale.
We begin with the titular character, ARMOR, a protection robot who has just “awoken” to find himself removed from the rest of the city by miles with no memory of his shutdown. His main priority is finding Clane, the very important child he is programmed to protect, before any danger befalls him. In the meantime, unknown to ARMOR, Clane is having an adventure of his own- surviving an automaton apocalypse.
So if you like good old zombies, gory violence or psychotic robots, stick around! Someone has to enjoy all the blood and death and it sure wont be the characters!
Chupa Cabra Comics is the first entry from On My Lap Comics presented in comic-strip format! It’s just like all your favorite comic strips featuring lazy cats or huge dogs or dysfunctional families, but instead featuring a chupa cabra and a goat living together as
roommates! So why not grab some coffee or tea or blood or whatever it is you sip and join their conversations?
The following stories have been compiled and provided by a proud race of interstellar cat people from a distant world. These examples of graphic literature are similar to our own comic books here on earth. All of the exciting events are intact as
originally presented for their culture. The spaceships! The gunfights! The cat people language! Oh wait, that’s right. The interstellar cat people are so proud and arrogant that they refuse to provide translations for the dialogue. “Meow meow meow” they say. OMLC has managed to insert some action word translations to assist in your understanding of the material. I suppose we’ll just have to observe the events, details, and word styles and inflections as if we are foreigners who cannot speak the native language.
Pretend you're watching a new sketch comedy show with a wide variety of content and style.Think of the characters as a pre-established and accepted cast similar to the classic cartoon groupings you once loved, only more screwed up.
If you're thinking: "What?! There's a comic strip about this? There would never be a comic strip about this! WTF?!", good. You're halfway there. These strips are funny to us for that exact reason! Who wants the same old crap anymore? Super- realistic penciling. Computerized coloring. Costumes. Heroics. Origin stories. BAH! Not I! I want a creepy dude with big eyes that just stares at people! I want a fat hippo that gets hot and sweaty all the time! A foxy llama babe that does junk that rhymes with her name! Crazy fake ads with whacked out products I wish I had!
Presents aims to take the best random insanity as described above and showcase it all here together for your pleasure.
Who's that?!
Squeak is introduced in MEOW! #1 and over time becomes quite useful to MEOW...
